Power Presentations

The Difference:

Course Description:

Power Presentations is a two-day proven, polished and professional course designed to increase business presentation effectiveness. The benefits are both immediate and long-term. Measurable and permanent results are guaranteed.

Course Objectives:

  • To understand the dimensions of effective presentations
  • To implement specific techniques for enhancing presentation style
  • To deliver powerful, persuasive and professional presentations geared to audience requirements

Course Content:

  • Content Construction - objectives, audience analysis, situation analysis, introductions, body, questions and answers, and conclusion
  • Delivery - nonverbal techniques, verbal techniques, difficult audiences and stage fright
  • Effective Use of Media - appropriate types of media, the creation of visuals, and specific usage guidelines
  • Special Issues - logistics, impromptu presenting, emceeing. time management, breaks, humor, gimmicks and notes
  • Reinforcement - resources, individualized plans, and next steps

Course Design:

Power Presentations increases participants' confidence and competence through a carefully designed course structure. Thirty-five percent of the course is devoted to lecture and demonstration. Sixty-five percent consists of participant presentations, exercises and individualized counseling.

Each participant has the opportunity to deliver four videotaped presentations which are critiqued. An audiotape exercise allows participants to practice voice techniques. A pre-taped video on presentation techniques is reviewed. Assignments include preparation and some light reading.
